Babinet Compensator ‘PSAW’ (1012 )

The instrument consists of two round scales. One with index and the other with vernier. The first scale (index scale) is for turning the analyzer into the azymuth. The second scale (vernier scale) is for measuring the degree of orientation of a wedge box. The wedge box contains two wedges cut in mutually perpendicular direction of optics axis in quartz. The long wedge is movable by means of a micrometer screw minimum reading of the movement is taken. Anderson Bridge for Self – Inductance ‘PSAW’ (1016)

This bridge method is more complicated than those which have been described so far. The bridge has the following characteristics :

P =

consists of three ratio dials of 10, 100 & 1000 ohms.

Q =

consists of three ratio dials of 10, 100 & 1000 ohms.

R =

non-inductive resistance of 1000 ohms (fixed value).

S =

A variable non - inductive resistance in the form of 3 decades of 1 x 10, 10 x 10 & 100 x 10 ohms. This resistance also includes the resistance of self - inductance ‘L’ which is also connected to the same arm.

M =

A non-inductive variable resistance of 3 decades of 10 x 10, 100 x 10 & 1000 x 10 ohms.

C =

A standard capacitance provided in the bridge in the form of a single decade of 10 x 0.01 mfd. Supplied with unknown inductance L whose value is to be calculated.

Conductivity Attachment ‘PSAW’ (1020 C )

It is an arrangement to hold specimens in the form of wires, rods strips etc. Separate current & potential terminals are provided. Distance between potential points is 50 cm. It can hold specimen of any size between ½ “ dia. rod 42 S.W.. wires.

Adjustable heavy heavy duty D.C. Current source 1020 B (1020 B)

The unit is mains operated and can deliver a continuously adjustable D.C. Current of 0-10 Amp maximum. The unit consist of a variac, a step down transformer, a bridge rectifier, filter circuit and an ammeter of 0-10 A to read current. Two heavy brass terminals are provided for output Input voltage: 230 V A.C. Mains 50 c/s. D.C. Output : Approx. 0-10 V, continously adjusted to give a variable current of 0-10 Amp depending upon external load.

Industrial Kelvin Double Bridge Cat 1020 A (1020 A)

Standard Resistance: There are 10 coils of .01 ohm each arranged on a rotary dial plus a circular slide wire of total resistance .01 ohm and 500 sub divisions is equal to .00002 ohms on the normal range. Multiplying Ratios: A single rotary switch furnishers 5 multiplying ratios of x 100, x 10, x 1, x .01 and x 0.01. Range of measurement: The bridge has a range of .0000002 ohm to 11 ohm. Max. Current: 10 A intermittently & 5 A continuously. Panel: A bakelite panel enclosed in a teak wood box is used. Separate current and potential terminals, battery and galvanometer terminals, push buttons for battery and galvanometer are provided on the panel. Accuracy: ± 0.5% current 5 Amps upto 10 Amps. Coils: Mangnin coils are used.

Kohlrausch Conductivity Bridge ‘PSAW’ (1021 A )

A circular slide wire is calibrated from 0.01 to 10 ohms. A rotary dial furnishers 6 mutipliers of 0.1, 1, 10, 100, 1000 & 10000. Range of measurement is 0.01 to 100 K Ohm. Terminals for supply and head phone detectors are provided on the panel. A detector key is also provided. The position of slider is adjusted to the position of minimum sound.
