Gold leaf provides high sensitivity to this electroscope. The glass used has exceptionally good dielectric properties. Conducting strips on sides serve to discharge the leaf when charge becomes excessive, thus reducing likelihood of injury to it. Supplied with aluminum collar and screwed in aluminium top. Elegantly finished on a polished wooden circular base.
