| This apparatus is very useful in the determination of the melting point of any substance in small quantity upto 3000C. It consists of a block of alluminium with built-in electric heating elements prepapred from kanthal heating wire. The block is bored axially with the diameter increasing the steps. Cover glass slip or this clear mica sheets are used in microscopic tests ons the steps to form enclosure in the block which is illuminated by arrangement fixed in its cabinet. Radial holes admit a thermoment fixed in its cabinet. Radial holes admit a themoment and glass capillary into the enclosure. The specimen is kept either in the capillary or directly on the glass bottom the viewing glass. The apparatus is supplied with thermometer and capillaries. It is suitable for 230 volts AC mains.
